Personal | Happy New Year

What a year 2015 has been! To think that this time last year 'Sincerely May' was just an idea in my head that was bursting to come out.

The first 9 months of business has been amazing. I have learnt some lessons along the way as you would with a young business but I have also worked with some amazing couples. I have been featured in some of the top UK wedding publications & blogs. I was accepted to sell on Not On The Highstreet. I have collaborated with some amazingly talented people within the wedding industry. Some who I now class as good friends.

However the main thing I love about my job is working with clients like you. Learning all about you as a couple....

Learning about how you both met.... where you are getting married... Your likes and dislikes...

I pride myself on getting to know people, and getting to know their stories. I feel with this I can then portray who you both are as a couple and portray this in my work.

2014 was a challenging and exciting year but I feel 2015 is going to be much more than that, and all I can say is bring it on.

Happy New Year to you All!!!!

Sound Tracks | July

I am a little bit late on the taking of this one… I should really be saying 'Hello Mid July!'

Better late than never hey? The music in the studio the past few weeks has been a real mixed bag. I think my most played song has to be 'This Is How We Do' by Katy Perry.

1. 27 - Passenger
2. Blue Smoke - Dolly Parton
3. Ho Hey - Lennon Stella, Maisy Stella
4. Boom Clap - Charli XCX
5. Best Shot - Birdy, Jaymes Young
6. Deceptacon (DFA Rmx) - Le Tigre
7. Bad Girls - (M.I.A)
8. Merry Happy - Kate Nash
9. This Is How We Do - Katy Perry
10. Never Gonna Change - Broods
11. A Sky Full Of Stars - Coldplay
12. You're The One I Want - Angus & Julia Stone

Studio Times | Poster Design for 'Something Old - Something New' Wedding Event

Design by Sincerely May
Happy Thursday! I don't know about you but it has been super busy at Sincerely May Studios! I can not believe its Mid-July already! Where is the year going?

One project we have recently finished off is designing the poster for the Super Duper Wedding Events wedding fair 'Something Old - Something New'.

I met Tiffany from Super Duper Wedding Events recently, as I attended one of her fairs in June this year where I had a great time meeting future bride & grooms and their friends and family. It was great fun working with her to create the look and feel of her future event.

If you are getting married in Cornwall and are looking for suppliers for your wedding this will be a great place to meet them. It is being held at Tregenna Castle Hotel in St Ives on Sunday 5th October.

If you have already had your big day and your spare room is still looking like a wedding warehouse. There will be a 'Bridal Booty' which is basically a car boot sale to sell off your let over wedding pieces to future brides & grooms! Get in touch with Tiffany to book your table!

Studio | Wedding Event at Trereife House, Cornwall

Umm… how is it July the 9th already? We have been super busy at Sincerely May creating lots of pretty goods for Brides To Bes (and Handsome grooms to be!!).

Back on the 15th June, we exhibited for the first time at a wedding event down at Trereife House in Penzance. It was such a hot day in that marquee but it was super fun to meet future Brides & Grooms and their Bridesmaids. It was lovely to hear all about there exciting plans, and be able to speak to you guys first hand to hear your thoughts on our products.

We came out of the fair really excited about our products as they got such great feedback. The event was held by Super Duper Vintage Events and it was also lovely to meet other wedding vendors! I mean look at those pink flamingo's! Every one has to love a pink flamingo? Surely?!

It was our first time at Trereife House, and what a stunning place it is. It has the most beautiful gardens and the house is just so pretty, especially in that gorgeous sunshine!

Features | Juno & Joy

© Cathryn Nicholson - Sincerely May 2014

For those of you who don't know I am a proud member of the Juno & Joy collective. If you are planning a wedding that will be unique as you then this is a wedding blog for you. If you head over to the Juno & Joy blog you will find a love blog post regarding Art Deco inspired wedding dresses and also a lovely illustration by little ol me!

I was honoured to be asked by Sarah over at Juno & Joy if I would be interested in creating illustrations for future dress features that they have planned. I obviously said yes!!! Any excuse to put pen to paper. For those of you who don't know, I have been a fashion designer for the past 8 years where I have been able to use my illustration skills. I also sell some of my illustration work over on Etsy of Chanel No.5 & Louboutin illustrations.

It was worth doing this illustration just for the lovely comments made by the Juno & Joy team.

'I am so utterly in awe of Cathryn's talents too, what a beautiful illustration. And if you pop by tomorrow you can see an engagement shoot captured by none other than Cathryn's husband Alex… yep that's one heck of a wedding power couple!'

I need to somehow try and find out how I can use that quote in my marketing! haha It won't be every day we get called 'one heck of a wedding power couple'.

So what are you waiting for?! Head on over the Juno & Joy and check out the blog post now!

Inspiration | Watercolour

The Watercolour trend was another huge inspiration for us at Sincerely May. This trend is popping up all over the wedding industry. We love the feminine feel of this trend that we couldn't resist grabbing some images to help inspire you to incorporate them into your event.

The Watercolour trend is so so beautiful it can be used for weddings, hen parties or even baby showers!! I think the fashion illustrator in me is instantly attracted to the delicate hand painted feel.

I also think our 'Blush' collection looks oh so beautiful in cornflower blue... could also be perfect for a Nautical theme too....
